Contradiction, 2020

Contradiction; The mutual relationship formed by the coexistence of two opposing objects.  Rock that do not budge even when thunder and lightning strikes, and securely stand on their places. A circle that rolls smoothly. We even refer a gentle personality as 'roundly'(Korean expression). Set of contradictory images and its repetition. Objects with contradictory properties are placed on one screen to get a visual harmony. I believe that the contradictions that challenge common sense are the driving force behind this society. People live in a society full of contradictions that cannot be understood by their common sense. In this society, contradictions give birth to new contradictions and balance with the existing system.
 

모순; 두 대립물이 공존하면서 맺는 상호 관계.
천둥 번개가 몰아쳐도 꿈쩍 않고 고집스러울 만큼 자신의 자리를 지켜내는 바위. 성격이 유하며 온순한 사람들을 흔히 ‘둥글둥글하다’고 부를 만큼 부드러이 굴러가는 원. 모순된 이미지들의 집합과 반복. 모순되는 성질의 사물들을 한 화면에 배치하며 그 속의 시각적 조화를 찾는다.
기정사실화된 상식에 도전하는 모순들은 이 사회를 굴러가게 하는 원동력이다. 사람들은 상식적으로 이해 불가한 모순들이 가득한 사회에서 살아간다. 그 속에서 모순은 새로운 모순을 낳고, 기존 체제와 균형을 맞춰나간다.


矛盾；及两个对立物共存而形成的相互关系。
即使雷电交加也纹丝不动，坚守自己位置的岩石。通常被人们称为‘圆溜溜‘，温柔地滚动着的圆圈，矛盾图像的集合与反复。将具有矛盾性质的事物设置在同一个画面，寻找其中的视觉协调。挑战已成事实的常识的矛盾是推动社会前进的动力。人们生活在无法理解、充满矛盾的社会。其中，矛盾产生新的矛盾，与现有的体制保持平衡。
