Human beings are created from nothing into
a meaningful being through countless relationships starting with their mothers.
The paradoxical existence, umbilical cord, connects
us to the first relationship and finally begins to connect us to the world as
it is broken, is expressed in patterns.
The two cylinders in the three-dimensional sculpture with the patterns symbolizing the ‘Sam’Cord and the umbilical cord represents ‘you’, who connect with ‘me’ throughout the course of life. The two iron plates that cross and connect between the two cylinders symbolize the paradoxical thing that connects us to the world as it is disconnected, the umbilical cord.
인간은 무(無)에서부터 어머니를 시작으로 수많은 인연과 연결되며 하나의 유(有) 의미한 존재로 거듭난다. 그 첫 인연과 연결이 되어주는 끈이자 끊어지면서 비로소 이 세상과 연결이 시작되는 역설적 존재, 탯줄을 패턴으로 표현해냈다.
삼줄과 꼬인 탯줄이 표현된 패턴의 입체 조형물 속 두 원기둥은 ‘나’와 살아가며 緣(연)을 맺는 모든 ‘그대’를, 두 원기둥 사이를 가로지르며 연결하는 두 철판은 끊어지면서 연결된 역설적인 존재 緣(연)의 끈, 탯줄을 의미한다.
人类从無,自母亲结缘开始,与无数的缘分相连成为有意义的存在.与这个连接了第一个缘分的绳子断开从而能够开始与世界相连的矛盾性存在,则将脐带以图案的形式表新出来.
表现Sam‘Cord和扭曲脐带的立体造型物内的两根圆柱意味着与‘我’生活结缘的所有‘你’,横穿两根圆柱之间连接的两根铁板意味着由断开而连接的矛盾性存在的结缘之绳,则意味着脐带。
