안고 가는 시간, 2021

I wonder what would happen to those four years of time if I decided to walk on a path other than textile art. I don’t even have enough space to store all my artwork in my tiny house. I’ll probably leave them in some dusty warehouse and forget they even existed after some period of time. I used to collect pieces of cloth because I thought it might come in handy someday, and with the old work clothes I wore every night at school, I reconstructed them into a practical rug. This rug will remind me every day how I still love textile art. I will still appreciate my wonderful four years of college life even after graduation.



졸업 후에 섬유미술이 아닌 다른 길을 걷게 되면 4년이라는 시간은 어떻게 되는 걸까? 나의 작은 자취방에는 여태 만든 작품들을 보관할 공간조차 없어서 아마 창고 깊숙한 곳에 놓아두고 금방 잊어버리게 될 것이다. 4년간의 대학 생활을 추억하며, 언젠간 쓸 것 같아 아까워서 보관해 둔 천조각들과, 작업하는 밤마다 입었지만 더 이상 필요 없어진 낡은 작업복을 모아 실용적으로 쓰일 러그로 만들었다. 이로써 4년이라는 시간과 나의 작품들은 방바닥에서나마 늘 나와 생활하게 될 것이다.



如果决定走纤维艺术以外的道路，这4年会怎么样呢？ 我甚至没有足够的空间将我的艺术作品全部存放在我小房子里。 我可能会把它们放在一个满是灰尘的仓库里，过一段时间就会忘记它们。 因为觉得什么时候方便，所以把随身携带的布都收集起来，每天晚上在学校穿的旧工作服重新整理成实用的地毯。 这条地毯每天都会提醒我，我仍然热爱纺织艺术。 毕业后的4年里，我仍然会珍惜大学生活的美好时光。
