With the appearance of heaven, earth, and water, it means the universe, and the king, who organizes symbols representing the creation, change, and operation of the universe, could soon be given the same meaning as being either the host of the universe or the host of the universe. Ilwol Obongdo is a piece of work that was completed only when it was with the king of Joseon.
해와 달은 음양(陰陽)을 상징하고 다섯 봉우리는 오행(五行)을 상징한다. 하늘과 땅, 물이 다 나타나니 그것은 곧 우주를 의미하며, 우주의 생성과 변화, 운행의 체계인 음양오행을 대변하는 상징물들을 주관하는 국왕은 곧 우주의 주재자 아니면 우주의 주재자를 대신하는 존재와 같은 의미를 부여받을 수 있었다. 일월오봉도는 조선의 왕과 함께일 때 비로소 완성된 하나의 작품이 된다.
