This artwork express human
beings have a specific way of ‘dressing up’, for different TPOs.
The term [dress up] has two meanings: get dressed nice and well, or get disguised. Implying both meanings and using animals as a metaphor, this artwork express human beings have a specific way of ‘dressing up’, for different TPOs. Showing sometimes we dress as the society told us to without criticism, even though it’s not what we want or it doesn’t suit us well.
[Dress Up]은 ‘차려입다’는 말과 함께 ‘변장을 하다’라는 의미를 가진 제목을 사용하여 다른 동물들과 달리 사람들의 경우, 상황이나 장소 및 시간에 따라 갖춰야하는 의복예절이 존재하는 모습을 동물에 빗대어 표현한 작품이다. 경우에 따라서는 입기 싫거나 자신과 어울리지 않는 옷일 수 있는데도 불구하고 사회에서 정한 대로 비판의식 없이 규정된 의복을 입는 사람들의 모습을 나타낸다.
